A Hideaway in Napa Valley

Come get lost in the vines.

The Farm

Our History

Left Bank Farms started as the Cocker Christmas Tree Farm in the 1950’s and 1960’s. The soil has been producing joy for Napa locals for decades. Matt & Jen Handler purchased the farm in 2019 and have spent years rejuvenating the property. The Handlers are originally from the Midwest, and moved to the Bay Area and ultimately Mount Veeder to follow their dream of being a part of the Napa community. They chose the name ‘Left Bank Farms’ because the property sits on the left side of Redwood Creek. The Handlers also have a special relationship with the Left Bank in Paris, France and thought the name was a perfect fit to highlight their wine making style, taste, and sensibility.

Our Grapes 🍇

The Handlers planted cabernet sauvignon clone 337, the most coveted cabernet vine stock in Bordeaux. These rare vines are prized for their concentrated flavor and thrive in the unique terroir at Left Bank Farms. This location in the valley experiences substantial marine influence and the unique soil composition lends to the ability to make a California cabernet with a very old world style, taste, and sensibility.

The Location

The farm sits in a redwood grove and has an energy that makes everyone who visits feel at home. There are many locations for hosting private beautiful events and dinners. The farm is only 10 minutes from Napa Downtown and 15 minutes from Yountville. Our location at the bottom of Mt. Veeder makes us easy to find and visit.

Live Like a Local

A visit to Left Bank Farms is the perfect way to understand the dream of living in Napa Valley. Along with the vineyard, The Handlers have a small herd of sheep, chickens, and a large garden. Jen is an avid gardener who can discuss the benefits of companion planting through out the farm.
